The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association has issued a reminder stating that the 2015 'Name That Foal' Contest, sponsored by Meridian Farms and ASHA, is closing today (Wednesday, May 13).
Young harness racing fans can submit their name choice for the foal. There are four contest categories for young fans of harness racing -- Best Name, Best Letter, Best Drawing and Best Tweet. The contest has two age groups: Ages 8 & Under, and Ages 9 to 16.
The foal is a beautiful bay filly by Wink N Atcha out of Bette Blue Chip. She was born Friday, February 13.
The foal’s name will be chosen from one of the above age groups.
Prizes will include Nintendo DS, iPod Shuffles, headphones and iTunes gift cards. Runner-ups in each category will receive an ASHA prize.
All submissions must be received in the ASHA office by Wednesday, May 13. The winners will be announced Victoria Day -- Monday, May 18th at Century Downs Racetrack & Casino.
