Something that you usually don’t see at the horse track occurred Wednesday night at Buffalo Raceway
.
As usual, the eight horses in the ninth race at Buffalo started in consecutive saddle pad numbers. After the two laps around the half-mile track they crossed the finish line in saddle pad number. The odds of this rare occurrence are actually 40,320-1.
Ironically, Somethingtobelieve and driver John Cummings Jr started from Post 1 and were the first to cross the finish line. Favourite Shes A Yankee Baby with Jack Flanigen finished second after starting from Post 2. While Cocoabella (Kevin Cummings) finished third after starting from the third post position. The remaining five horses crossed the finish line in consecutive order of their saddle pads completing the rare occurance.

I will take 40,320-1 odds on
I will take 40,320-1 odds on this any day. Those are the correct odds if every post position has an equal chance at finishing in every different position (for an 8 horse race).
Still a pretty cool result though. I'd like to see them finish in reverse post position order on a half mile track!
