Reports indicate that the Ontario Racing Commission has denied Baymount Incorporated's application for 2009 race dates at the Quinte Exhibition and Racetrack

.

"The application submitted by Baymount was insufficient," ORC executive director John Blakney told The Intelligencer.

"We received the application late Thursday but upon review we found it insufficient. There are certain requirements in every application and they were not met. We sent a letter back to Baymount Friday."

One requirement of the application not fulfilled by Baymount according to the Intelligencer article was an application fee.

"There were other requirements as well that had to be met. We treat every application the same. They've made their submission now they'll have to re-apply," stated Blakney.

Baymount/Quinte has now descended to farce. Not only do they not have money to build a new track or fix up the old track, they don't even have enough coin for an application fee! Just the kind of people horsemen should be signing contracts with bien sur.
