Jason Brewer went to the front, made four left turns and didn’t look back en route to winning Monday’s $13,200 Preferred for pacers with Mach It Big in 1:54.4.

Trained by Richard Moreau, Mach It Big sprinted to the position of command from Post 6 and he successfully chopped out fractions of :27.2, :57 and 1:25.3 before using a :29.1 closing quarter to pull off the 8-1 upset over Stonebridge Wish and Royal Outlook.

The margin of victory for the five-year-old son of Mach Three-Belinda Hanover, who is owned by Keith & Deborah Cassell of Smiths Falls, ON, was 2-1/4 lengths. The 17-time winner, who upped his lifetime earnings to $265,745 with the win, is now 3-for-14 this year.

On the heels of a 1:57.2 triumph in last Monday’s $5,600 Preferred-3 for pacers, Acceptable Risk made a round trip to victory lane thanks to his 1:56.3 tally in Monday’s $8,400 Preferred-2 class.

Trevor Henry put the veteran right up on the motor and after slicing out intervals of :27.3, :57.3 and 1:26.3 he used a :30-second kicker to win by a neck in 1:56.3. Kendal Gustav was next best, with Western Bandit rounding out the top three finishers.

Dan Morrissey trains the 10-year-old son of Intrepid Seelster-Southernbound Lady for David Morrissey of Ailsa Craig along with the Estate of Daniel J McCann and William Woodburn of Parkhill, ON. The career winner of $791,340 owns a 2-3-0 record from 11 starts this season.

A pair of $5,600 Preferred-3 contests always went postward with Apaches Cam (1:55.4 – Jason Brewer/Murray Pepper) and Just Crowned (1:55.4 – J.R. Plante/Tony Piroski) winning their respective assignments.
