Angelpedia outkicked Inside Express and scored in a career-best 1:55.3 in Thursday’s (April 20) $12,500 second leg of the Margaret Provost Memorial for three-year-old filly trotters at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Angelpedia got caught late in last week’s opening leg, her seasonal debut. On Thursday, she had the benefit of a start and the pocket trip, as she edged past Inside Express for Mike Wilder and downed her by 1-1/4 lengths. Sweet On Her, an opening-leg winner, finished third.
It was one of three wins for Wilder on the 12-race card. Dan Altmeyer trains the daughter of Cantab Hall-Baker Black Jet for Gilbert Short and Ross Stables LLC.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues Friday, April 21, when the 12-race program features a pair of carryovers: $833.51 in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4), $400.49 in the Pick 5 (Race 8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
