The win streak is now three and counting in Western Fair Raceway’s Preferred Pace class for Pacific Oak, who easily disposed of the foes he faced
in Monday’s $18,400 edition.
Trainer/driver Kenny Oliver took an off-the-pace approach once again with the six-year-old son of Pacific Rocket, who captured his fourth win of the season in just eight attempts despite being parked every step of the mile.
Pacific Oak used a :29.1 final frame to stop the clock in 1:57.3. Grand Bend Turbo followed the winner’s cover and finished second while Tipper Too closed hard to finish third.
Shirley & Kerry House of St. Jacobs, Ontario share ownership on the 23-time winner, who bumped his lifetime bankroll to $217,481 in the process.
In other Monday action at the London, Ontario half-miler, Shami Cami recorded the 35th win of her career thanks to her 1:59.2 tally in the $15,200 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace. It was the second consecutive score for the nine-year-old daughter of Run The Table.
In rein to Mike Whelan, the Scott McNiven trainee sat a third-over trip before exploding off cover and using a :29.3 final quarter to notch the half-length decision over Trace Of Luck. A Fiesty Affair rounded out the top three.
Twin B Stables, who bred the mare, share ownership on the career winner of $476,022 with Kim and Brad McNiven.
