The $60,000 final of the Celias Counsel Trotting Series for three-year-old conditioned fillies will kick off tonight's 11-race card from Woodbine Racetrack, and driver Steve Condren has offered up some comments on his mount, Bramalea Hanover, the even-money morning line favourite
.
The Bob McIntosh-trained daughter of Windsongs Legacy went unraced last year as a two-year-old, but has been getting the job done in her seven starts so far this season.
The $180,000 yearling purchase at the 2008 Harrisburg Sale has won six of her seven assignments in what is her inaugural campaign. The bay had four wins in her five starts prior to the Celias Counsel, but after triumphing in both of her preliminary leg divisions she is now looking for a sweep of the series this evening at the Toronto-area oval.
"Right now she's progressing the way that you would kind of want her to," Condren told the Woodbine Entertainment Group's Communication Department. "She's still pretty green, but so far so good and I can only see better things from her for down the road."
Condren has mentioned throughout the series that Bramalea Hanover has displayed some 'green' tendencies, and not those of the globally-conscious variety.
"She was some better last week," Condren said, explaining that the filly did display less greenness during last week's second leg. "If she progresses like she did from the first week to last week I expect her to be that much smarter this time."
The Celias Counsel finale will also kick off tonight's edition of Race Night on The Score, which will beam the first five races of the Woodbine card coast to coast in Canada.
Bramalea Hanover has drawn Post 4 in the eight-horse affair. The 5-2 second morning line choice, Little River Dance, will start in Post 5 with driver Brad Kramer calling the shots. Sleek Agent, the 5-1 third morning line selection, will start from the rail with Jack Moiseyev in the racebike.
