It is not every day that you see a cow under saddle. It is also not the norm to see a cow on the trot. A 12-year-old girl is thriving at making both a reality.
An article on abc.net.au tells the story of Georgia Auricht, a youngster from Australia’s Northern Territory, who has broken her five pet cows to saddle and to the trot.
When asked how she broke the cows, Auricht said, "Well you round them up in the round ring, and then you start to get them used to [you] hopping on [their] back for about two days, and then you start getting on there and you give them a noise to go on.
"And once they're used to that you can tell them how to run or trot.”
The report states that Auricht spends an hour with the cows in the morning and two hours with them in the evening.
"I'm planning to take them in this year's [show] as well plus the little ones that I've broken in, so I'll have a few to show."
