Truro Raceway's leading reinsman Ryan Ellis won half of Sunday's races at the half-mile Nova Scotia track while providing conditioner N. Robin Clark with his first career victory.

The One I Desire ($10.60) was the one that provided local resident Clark with his first training win at the age of 48. Ellis pulled the pocket past the half and sent the six-year-old son of Real Desire to the top in the seventh race before pulling away from the pack by three and a half lengths. The winning time was 1:59.4. Euphoria Seelster finished second and Kapone was 13 lengths behind in third.

Clark's first win came in just seven career starts. The One I Desire was making his third start for the conditioner, who also co-owns the bay gelding with Kathy Clark.

Ellis also scored wins aboard Secret Fantasy ($2.60) for trainer Wayne Merner and Hugo I Go ($12.90) for Nicholas White, along with Saulsbrook Quick ($2.70) for Ross Toole, and Skinnys Son ($3.40) for Terry Osborne, both now two-for-two on the year.

The $1,225 top pacing feature was won by seven-year-old Cambest son P H Bestman ($14.50) and driver Kenneth Parker Jr. The duo romped to a two and three-quarter score in 1:58 for trainer-owner Dr. R. James Shive of Rines Creek, N.S. St Lads Dagwood and favourite King Of Kington finished second and third.
