Michelle Martin celebrated her first training victory on Sunday evening at Flamboro Downs as her homebred Laramars Soul broke his own maiden in the fifth race.

Martin sent Laramars Soul ($4.30) postward for the second start in both of their careers and the sophomore pacer prevailed by half a length in 1:58.4 with Jody Jamieson in the bike after battling Thisdeuceiswild and J.R. Plante for most of the mile.

The favourite paid $4.30 to win following a runner-up performance in his career-debut last week.

Martin also owns and bred the Christian Cullen-Laramars Spirit colt.

In other action, Patrick Shepherd eked out a training triple during the 12-race card as Tobins Got It ($5.40), Amazing Quest ($15.30), and Dee Dee Pucker ($5.80) all won their respective assignments by less than a length.
