Two $7,500 divisions in the North American Amateur Drivers Assocation (NAADA) Trotting Series went to post on Wednesday (April 13) at Monticello Raceway. And when the judges deemed each official, Alan Schwartz and Jake Stillwell each reined a winner: Schwartz with Makin Trouble K in 2:00.3 while Stillwell scored behind Cyclone Maximus in 2:02.4.

In his split, Schwartz sent Makin Trouble K to the lead from post 3 and they had four lengths on their competition as the quarter flashed :30, and they were still comfortably in charge when they passed the half in 1:00.3. Still on the engine when he passed three-quarters in 1:30.2, Schwartz opened two lengths on his competition. At that point, John Calabrese rallied Shoemaker Hanover into contention. And when they headed for home, Makin Trouble K tired but was still strong enough to rebuff a late charge by Shoemaker Hanover to go on to a neck win over Calabrese's trotter. Winneress (Tony Verruso) finished third some four lengths behind the winner.

Sent off as the favorite, Makin Trouble K paid $4.80 for the win. The eight-year-old Rose Run Hooligan mare is owned by Bruce Aldrich, Jr. and trained by Laura Perino.

In the other $7,500 division, Jake Stillwell and Cyclone Maximus allowed Chris Petrelli to cut the fractions with Karets and then stalked him all the way to the top of the lane. But despite Karets having a three-length lead at the top of the stretch, Stillwell hustled Cyclone Maximus as they headed for paydirt and they rallied to a neck victory in 2:02.4. Racintowardadream garnered the show dough for Alan Schwartz.

Circus Maximus, an eight-year-old Dukes Ranger gelding, is owned by Joe Ricco, Jr. and trained by trained by Nancy  Montembeault. He paid $9.10 for the win.
