Insincerity scored a gutsy first over victory in Wednesday's $7,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace to close out a perfect night at The Raceway at the Western Fair District for driver Bob McClure.

Insincerity secured a three-hole off the gate from the trailing tier behind Shellace (Lorne House) and the front-striding favourite Katherine B (Alfie Carroll). McClure then sent the seven-year-old mare first over after the :28.4 opening quarter and she applied heavy pressure to the leader through middle splits of :58.3 and 1:27. Katherine B was able to keep a slight advantage into final turn, but Insincerity wore her down in the stretch and just held off the late-rallying Delta Grace Tone (Nick Steward) for her 35th career win, scoring by a head in 1:56.4. Katherine B was a half-length back in the three-across finish.

Insincerity has earned over $20,000 in purses so far this year with three wins, three seconds and one third-place finish from 11 starts against Preferred 2 and 3 competition. William Hamm owns and trains the homebred mare by Rambaran out of Super Filly who has earned $232,866 in her career.

As for McClure, he had a perfect night winning all four of his drives over the course of the 10-race card. The 25-year-old reinsman is closing in on the 1,000 career-win milestone, now only 19 wins away. McClure's grand slam included wins with Split Endz and Machioda for trainer Craig Gilmour, who went two-for-two on the night, and Kennairn Fame for Mike Stoikopolous.
