Oscar Oscar turned in another devastating performance in capturing Friday’s $56,200 Youthful Pacing Series Final for three-year-old colts and geldings at Woodbine Racetrack

The son of Western Terror - Cup Of Jo entered the contest having won three straight races to start off his career and stopped the clock in 1:52 for driver Mark MacDonald.
Leaving from Post 2 in the final, Oscar Oscar found himself in fifth position in the early going as Scottie C (Jack Moiseyev) blasted to command from Post 10 and hung up an opening quarter of :27.2. At that point, Dervish Hanover (Jody Jamieson) was sent up from fourth with Oscar Oscar following closely on his heels.
It took Oscar Oscar until just past the :55.4 half to clear to command where he then came under pressure from first-over attacker Its A Good Thing (Randy Waples), who was looking for a series sweep. The leader took the field past three-quarters in 1:24.1 with the first-over prompter continuing to apply pressure.
Once they straightened up for home, Oscar Oscar kicked into another gear under only minimal urging and used a :27.4 final panel to seal the deal. Its A Good Thing held bravely for second with Oscar Oscar’s entrymate, Power Off (Rick Zeron), rounding out the top three.
The winner returned just $2.60 for the victory.
Oscar Oscar improved his record to four-for-four for trainer Tracy Brainard who conditions for Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida. The winner’s share of the purse boosted his earnings to just over $52,000.
In the $20,000 consolation, Randy Waples guided Star Party, the 2-1 popular choice, to victory in a career-best clocking of 1:54.2 for trainer and co-owner Bob McIntosh and the C S X Stables of Liberty Center, Ohio.
After making his move at the third quarter, the son of The Panderosa came home in :28 holding off Giddy Up Delight (Chris Christoforou), who rallied off second-over cover to finish half a length behind in second. Blue Suede Shoes (Jody Jamieson) finished third off a pocket-trip.
Star Party notched his second win in three outings this year. In 12 career starts, the three-year-old gelding has visited the winner’s circle five times earning just over $26,000.
