For the second time in his last three outings, it was Docsphillycheese who scored in the $12,000 Preferred Pace on Tuesday (April 1) at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Leaving from the rail as the 8-5 choice, driver Garrett Rooney protected his inside starting position by hustling Docsphillycheese to the quarter first in :28.1. Docsphillycheese had things his way to the half in :58.1 as Beach Tour (Michael Horner) worked first-over to the leader's wheel. Docsphillycheese countered and quickened in the third quarter, pacing clear by 1-1/2 lengths at the three-quarter mark in 1:27.

Pressure ratcheted up on the leader turning for home, with Beach Tour continuing to apply pressure while P L Oliver (Tyler Borth) was pinned in the pocket behind the leader. Docsphillycheese would not relent in the lane, holding the two challengers at bay to score the 1-1/2 length victory in 1:56.1. P L Oliver finished second, with Beach Tour holding sway for third.

Brittany Kennedy trains and co-owns Docsphillycheese along with Moneyclip Racing. The six-year-old homebred son of Betterthancheddar-Flight Of An Angel has won three of eight in 2025 and sports lifetime earnings of $172,019.

Earlier on the card, Dealin With Dewey and driver Jason Ryan utilized front-stepping tactics to take the $12,000 trotting Preferred in the opener.

Leaving from post four as the heavily bet 1-9 favourite, Dealin With Dewey spinted around Treasured Tee (Samuel Fillion) to grab early command to the quarter in :28.2. Dealin With Dewey led to the half in :58.2 before R Royal Port (Travis Henry) surged alongside the leader from third at three-quarters in 1:28.

Dealin With Dewey slowly began to edge clear of R Royal Port around the final turn when The Great Reset (Lorne House) presented a threat from second-over. The Great Reset powered off cover but could not reach Dealin With Dewey as the favourite reached the line three-quarters of a length in front in 1:57.3. R Royal Port held sway for the third position.

Dealin With Dewey is owned and trained by Sara Baillargeon. The seven-year-old gelded son of Wheeling N Dealin-Rockin With Dewey is a winner in two of six this year and has lifetime earnings of $346,533.
