Ontario-sired Spoiled Beach survived a first-over trip to win the $22,500 first leg of the Blossom Series for three-year-old pacing fillies at the Meadowlands Racetrack on a wet Wednesday night

.

Twin B Treasure with David Miller left from the far outside and set up shop on the front-end while Spoiled Beach, a daughter of Camluck, moved up on the outside under the urging of Rob Pierce. Twin B Treasure reached the first quarter in :29.2 then picked up the tempo en route to the half in :56.4.

Still sitting second on the outside, Spoiled Beach applied pressure to the third quarter station in 1:25.1 then claimed a short lead down the stretch. As Twin B Treasure faded to fourth, Spoiled Beach held off his ‘beach’ rival, Terroronthebeach (George Brennan), by Ontario sire Western Terror, for the win in 1:54.1 by a neck. Wildflower Hanover (Brian Sears) came on for third.

Trained by Linda Toscano for the Enviro Stables of Miami, Florida, Spoiled Beach, who returned to the track after more than a month's rest, scored his third win in five starts this year pushing his life savings to $80,272.

The second $22,500 leg of the Blossom Series is scheduled for next Wednesday, March 8 with the $65,000 final set for March 15.
