Flamboro Downs showcased a pair of $9,500 co-features on Sunday, March 9, with World Revival and Job Hunter capturing impressive victories in their respective races.

In the Sunday evening opener, Magical Aoine (Sam Fillion) took the early lead, but 6-5 favourite Brigus (Scott Coulter) quickly took over, reaching the opening quarter in :28 and the half in :58.1. Hasselhoff (Travis Cullen) was the first to tip outside, but struggled to gain ground. Adriatico Hanover (Jason Ryan) went three-wide around him, with World Revival and Anthony Haughan following that move and picking up cover. Brigus remained in control, reaching three-quarters in 1:28, but the field fanned three-wide around the final turn. Down the stretch, World Revival, the widest of them all, surged past the competition to score in 1:58 by 1-1/4 lengths over a ‘good’ track. Adriatico Hanover finished second, while Saulsbrook Tsunami (Brett MacDonald) was a fast-closing third.

World Revival, a four-year-old gelding by Stag Party out of Revival Cards, is trained by Meg Crone for Hutt Racing Stable of Malvern, Pennsylvania. The victory marked his sixth lifetime win and pushed his earnings past the $50,000 milestone, now sitting at $53,049. Sent off at 5-1, the pacer returned $13 to win.

The second co-feature of the night came in Race 7, where even-money favourite Topville Checkmein (Jason Ryan) was quickest off the gate, but Job Hunter and Jeff Hunt were on the move, pressing on to take command with a :28.2 opening quarter. At 17-1 odds, Maple Shadow (Brett MacDonald) popped outside and applied heavy pressure on Job Hunter through a :59.1 half and a 1:28.1 three-quarter mark. The two battled fiercely down the stretch, but Job Hunter dug in to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.1. Maple Shadow was a game second, while Ontop Rainstorm (Michael Whelan) finished third.

A four-year-old Huntsville–Do Your Job mare, Job Hunter is owned and trained by Jeff Hunt of Cambridge, Ont. This victory marked her fifth career win, boosting her lifetime earnings to $45,110. The 3-2 second choice returned $5 to win.
