Driver Paul MacKenzie finds himself at the top of the leaderboard at Flamboro Downs, and that is thanks in part to a productive Saturday afternoon at the office.

MacKenzie clicked for five wins on today’s mucky matinee at Canada’s fastest half-mile oval, pushing his 2009 win total to 61.

He swept the Daily Double wager thanks to wins behind Cams Bajan (2:02.1) and Girls Legacy (2:04.4) in the first and second races. Du Faucon (2:01.1) went wire-to-wire in the fourth race, thus giving trainer Tim McKinnon his second trip to victory lane and MacKenzie his third on the program.

MacKenzie also went coast-to-coast with The Presence (2:04.3) in the fifth race, and he capped things off by taking the ninth race with R Devilish Dude (2:02.1), who rallied to an impressive off-the-pace score for trainer Blake MacIntosh.

The resident of Puslinch, ON has racked up 6,317 lifetime wins throughout the course of his career while sitting behind the winners of more than $33 million in purse earnings.
