Pompano Park management has announced a 20 per cent purse increase beginning with the racing program of Monday, March 12.
This follows on the heels of a recent 10 per cent increase announced just days ago.
The increase reflects management's appreciation of horsepeople and their support of the racing at south Florida's only pari-mutuel harness racing track.
Racing continues through May.
In other track news, post positions will be drawn Wednesday for Sunday's $30,000 final of the Fred Monteleone Memorial, which is scheduled to be contested at the distance of one and a quarter miles. The first leg was contested at five-eighths of a mile, while the second leg was lengthened to the standard one mile distance.
Track record holder Panocchio, Hollywood Sign A, Rockys Z Tam and Dees Rocketman, all winners in their respective legs of the series, are expected to return for the final.
