The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association is pleased to announce that a five-year contract for horse racing at Century Downs in Rocky View County, Alberta has been signed with the United Horsemen of Alberta.
ASHA President Norm Kennedy stated, "Century Downs will provide horse racing fans in Alberta and Western Canada with a new and exciting opportunity to enjoy live racing in a new facility that is rapidly nearing completion. UHA has pursued the dream of returning live racing to the Calgary market and are to be commended for their dogged determination in realizing their vision."
Live racing will begin this spring at Century Downs with a full schedule of Standardbred racing featuring the best horses in Western Canada. ASHA looks forward to reconnecting with its southern fan base and introducing exciting live horse racing to a new audience.
