Eighteen-year-old driver Scott Young didn’t have to wait long to taste victory for the first time. Making his 12th career start Saturday in Georgian Downs’s fourth race, Young pulled off a 21-1 upset with Wincredulous

for trainer Phillippe Leclerc, who shares ownership with Paul Bernard of Saint-Hyacinthe, QC.

Sisternevertrails (Stephen Byron) was the early leader in the $9,000 trot, but gave way to a parked out California Stars (Tomas Dalbourg) past the opening quarter with the second over Wincredulous moving up alongside before the half. Wincredulous battled alongside California Stars with a slight advantage to three-quarters before pushing a length ahead and coasting home for the 2:01.2 victory. Sisternevertrails finished a length behind and This Flight Tonite (Robert Shepherd) rounded out the top three.

Young, the son of veteran trainer Bob Young, guided the four-year-old son of Windsongs Legacy-Incredible Chic to his first win of the season in three starts and third lifetime.
