Get Answers ($10.80) had the right answer in Buffalo Raceway's featured $17,391 pace for the fillies and mares on Wednesday afternoon, March 5 as she used a slow but steady first-over grind to top Bolt Of Beauty by two lengths in 1:58.4 over the 'good' track.
With Arco N (David McNeight) showing the way through fractions of :30, :59.2 and 1:29.2, Get Answers and Drew Monti sat in sixth place in the field of seven. Just before the half-mile pole, Get Answers started her first-over journey and began to steadily chip away at the lead of the now fading Arco N. But at the final marker, Get Answers started to chug away from the field and was home free down the long stretch. Bolt Of Beauty (Kevin Cummings) rallied for second place with Celia Bayama (Kyle Swift) taking the show position.
Trained by James Clouser Jr. and co-owned by the Burke Racing Stable, Yannick Gingras, Weaver Bruscemi and Frank Canzone, the five-year-old mare Get Answers (Lazarus-Want Answers) has now won once in two attempts this year, earning $12,625 this season and $246,641 in her career.
In the $15,217 sub-featured pace for the ladies, Big Bad Mosa ($7.20) enjoyed the action between Samosa Hanover and Atlantic Star on the front end but then when it was time to go, she eagerly responded to register a two-length victory in 1:58.2 for driver Kevin Cummings.
Samosa Hanover (Shawn McDonough) showed the way on the lead, putting up times of :29, :59 and 1:28.4. But approaching the final marker, Atlantic Star (Joseph Chindano Jr.) pulled alongside Samosa Hanover with Big Bad Mosa patiently watching from the pocket. Turning for home, Atlantic Star couldn't keep her rally going on the outside and dropped back. Big Bad Mosa was able to drop into the passing lane, used a :29.2 last quarter and cruised past Samosa Hanover with Bettor B Sawyer (James McNeight Jr.) taking the show spot.
The win was the third of the season in seven attempts for the eight-year-old mare Big Bad Mosa (Big Bad John-Cammosa), who is co-owned by the El Dorado Stables and Michael Torcello. The win lifted her 2025 bankroll to $123,539 and llifetime earnings to $187,747.
Racing will return on Saturday, March 8 at 2:30 p.m. with a 13-race card scheduled.
