New Brunswick Ushering In New Drivers

With the inception of Horse Racing New Brunswick, two new drivers are surfacing at the Saint John track that will be welcome additions to the local driving colony.

Robin 'Scott' Hubbard, who has been a fixture in the Gilles Barrieau stable for a number of years, has made the leap and contested his first qualifiers on Sunday. In fact, it didn’t take him long to get his first-win in as he piloted Obie Viking, a horse he once owned, to a 2:02.1 win.

Another newcomer fans will be seeing in action is Andrew Ward who has been an employee of the Saint John racetrack for a number of years and is expected to see his first taste of qualifying action on Wednesday.

Ward is best known for his work with the youngsters in the Dr. Hugh Baird stable. He has been associated with such Maritime stars as Clinton Debriefed, Le Win Skied, Argo Flutie, to name a few.
