Stories about horses falling into icy waters continue to hit mainstream news outlets, as the tale of a 13-year-old mare is the most recent to make headlines.
A report by FOX 31 Denver states that the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority were called when ‘Sonny’ got stuck in a partially-frozen pond.
The article states that Sonny had to be pulled out via a large tarp. Sonny is also expected to survive the ordeal.
Sonny’s story comes as a pair of reports about horses being stuck in the mud have come to light.
The Eastbourne Herald has run a story about a “cold and tired” horse being pulled from thick mud in Hailsham, UK, while the South Yorkshire Times has run a story about a horse having to be pulled out of shoulder-deep mud in Ealand, UK.
