It has been reported that emergency crews in West Greenwich, Rhode Island leapt to the rescue Monday (Feb. 24) after it was discovered that a horse had decided to take an icy dip in a neighbour’s swimming pool.
An article by NBC 10 News explains that a horse named Dixie made her way over to the pool before falling in.
The report states that the local fire department responded and sent wetsuit-clad firefighters into the pool. They were able to get a harness around the horse and lift it out of the water in roughly 30 minutes.
The article explains that the horse is being treated for hypothermia and is expected to make a full recovery.
