Tragic Accident At Flamboro

Published: March 29, 2013 11:09 pm EDT

Trot Insider has learned that a tragic accident in Friday's third race at Flamboro Downs has claimed the life of pacer A Regular Terror.

A Regular Terror and driver J Harris were leading the field past the half into the backstretch when the pacer took a bad step and backed through the field before falling. Stonehouse Baran and Robert Jenkins Jr. got caught behind the breaker and pulled up, but the rest of the field managed to avoid collision and completed the race.

Harris confirmed with Trot Insider that he did not sustain serious injuries, but sadly A Regular Terror suffered a broken ankle and had to be euthanized.

The seven-year-old Western Terror-Tawnees Mark gelding was trained by Ian Downey and owned by Susan Downey of St. George Brant and Scott Maracle of Brantford, Ont. A Regular Terror won 15 races in his career while earning $129,077 in purses.
