On Wednesday, March 29, a bill was defeated in the New Hampshire House of Representatives which could have lead to racino expansion for Rockingham Park in Salem
.
A report by the Eagle Tribune explains that lawmakers voted 236-108 against the measure, House Bill 593.
The article quoted Millennium Gaming spokesman Rich Killion, whose company was pushing for gaming expansion at the raceway, as saying, "We believe a revitalized Rockingham Park would be a tremendous asset to New Hampshire."
He went on to say, "Given that and the potential of the significant jobs, economic development and revenue, we will continue to work to make a revitalized 'Rock' a reality."
