After consistently hitting the board in the $18,200 Fillies and Mares Open at Saratoga Casino Hotel, Alittlesidehustl N finally crossed the wire on top ahead of the field of eight distaffers on Tuesday afternoon (March 28) with Jay Randall in the bike.
Favoured Adashious Hanover (Matthew Athearn) set a leisurely :58.4 first half; however, the backfield set in motion past the half when Racey Rach N (Chris Long) began to gain first-over out of fourth with Alittlesidehustl N not far behind. The tandem swallowed up the leader turning from home and when Randall fanned three-wide with Alittlesidehustl N, the five-year-old daughter of Hes Watching stormed home to score in 1:56.2. Racey Rach was second and Always Watching (Jordan Derue) earned the show spot.
Alittlesidehustl N paid $8.40 to win her first local Open victory. The New Zealand invader is trained by Jackie Greene, who co-owns the mare with the Kellogg Racing Stables.
