Lifestream Mindale captured his fifth consecutive victory in Friday’s finale at Georgian Downs providing driver Simon Allard with his fifth win on the 12-race card
.
In the 12th race for $5,000 claimers, 3-5 favourite Lifestream Mindale made the lead after being parked to the half and scooted away from the field of 10 by four lengths en route to the third quarter. The 12-year-old gelded son of Life Sign-Brooke Lobell then coasted home in a season's-best 1:55 with They Call Me Ted (Paul MacKenzie) and Ljs Cha Ching (Scott Coulter) finishing three lengths behind in second and third.
Bill Robinson trains Lifestream Mindale, a winner of five races in nine starts and over $11,000 this year, for owner Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, Que.
Allard also scored with Stick Man Moe (1:55.4) for trainer Richard Moreau and Perfect Sport (1:54.1) for Shawn Robinson in the sixth and seventh races, and the Ted MacDonnell-trained Kellys Keepsake (1:54.4) and Marty Fine pupil Dragon On Demand (1:53.2) in the ninth and 10th races.
Allard’s five-bagger gives him 117 wins on the year and $883,294 in earnings. He is currently the leading driver at Georgian Downs for wins and sits second in the national driver’s standings behind Jody Jamieson.
