Moon Beam, the $700,000-earning son of Dragon Again, put in his first charted mile of his four-year-old campaign this morning during the qualifying session at
Freehold Raceway.
With his trainer Eric Abbatiello at his lines, Moon Beam left from Post 7 and put in a gate-to-wire mile, laying the fractions down in :28.3, :58.2 and 1:27.3.
Moon Beam paced home in :28.1 for a four-length victory clocked in 1:55.4. His biggest cheque to date came in the 2007 edition of the Metro Pace, where he banked $250,000 courtesy of his second-place finish to Somebeachsomewhere.
