Trainer Colin Johnson recently surpassed the $25 million mark in lifetime earnings, and on Sunday evening at Rideau Carleton Raceway he bagged another milestone when he sent out his 3,000th winner.

Johnson, went into Sunday evening’s card sitting on 2,999 wins, reach the 3,000-win mark thanks to Zorgwijk Impact’s 1:58 triumph in Race 2. Denis St. Pierre, who has been one of Johnson’s “go to” reinsmen for the last number of years, fittingly teamed up with the trainer for the milestone victory.

The native of England celebrated a record season in 2002 when he sent out 359 winners and watched his starters bank more than $4.6 million. That marked the second consecutive year his barn banked more than $4 million in earnings. To date, he has watched his barn bank in excess of $1 million in earnings on nine occasions.

Along the way he has campaigned a number of top performers including Electric Stena (1:48.3 - $1,110,504), Corona Grande (1:50 - $698,094) and Le Blitz ($585,871).
