Following Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approval of Pocono Downs’ request for table games, the track’s president and CEO, Bobby Soper, said that if other details of internal controls satisfy the board, he thought his racino could be ready to offer games to players in June or July
.
Soper's comments have come in an article today by the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader.
The article indicates that Pocono will have to pay the state $16.5 million by June 1 for a licensing fee.
“The board and the casinos still have a tremendous amount of work in front of them before the public will be able to enjoy table games,” Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Chairman Greg Fajt was quoted as saying.
“Everyone is working well together to move this process along, but the expectation is that it will still take three to six more months until table games are operating.
