The Patrick Shepherd Stable made three trips to the winner’s circle during Saturday’s 12-race card at Flamboro Downs.
Strategy was the first of Shepherd’s trainees to get the job done. Driver James MacDonald moved the six-year-old son of Andover Hall wide in the back half of Race 4 and went on to open up for a four and a half-length win in 2:00.
MacDonald drove Shepherd’s other two winners on the card: Doing Some Damage, who went wire-to-wire in 1:57 in Race 5; and Pasta Vera, who returned a $21.80 Win mutuel in Race 7 after winning in 1:58.3 off a ground-saving trip.
