Genesee blew away the conditioned foes he faced at Rideau Carleton Raceway on January 31, and it was more of the same for the pacer in Sunday’s $6,800 Not List Preferred.
Sent off as the 4-5 favourite in the eight-horse affair, Genesee got away fifth for driver Gord Brown, who watched Si Semalu and Racing For Space hustled past the quarter pole in :27 before the latter cleared to the top. Racing For Space hit the half in :57.1, but Genesee was commencing a first-over bid.
Genesee found another gear in the backstretch and motored to the lead before ripping past the three-quarter marker in 1:25.4. He used a :28.2 closing panel to win by eight lengths over Web Cam in 1:54.1. Solid Performance was a distant third.
