Back-To-Back Wins For Genesee
Genesee blew away the conditioned foes he faced at Rideau Carleton Raceway on January 31, and it was more of the same for the pacer in Sunday’s $6,800 Not List Preferred.
Sent off as the 4-5 favourite in the eight-horse affair, Genesee got away fifth for driver Gord Brown, who watched Si Semalu and Racing For Space hustled past the quarter pole in :27 before the latter cleared to the top. Racing For Space hit the half in :57.1, but Genesee was commencing a first-over bid.
Genesee found another gear in the backstretch and motored to the lead before ripping past the three-quarter marker in 1:25.4. He used a :28.2 closing panel to win by eight lengths over Web Cam in 1:54.1. Solid Performance was a distant third.
Trainer Benoit Hebert shares ownership on the seven-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Twin B Intimate with Henri Hebert, Jr. of Papineauville, QC. The 19-time winner is quickly closing in on $180,000 in lifetime earnings.
