Trainer Mark Winacott didn't have to wait long to record a milestone win as his first starter on Thursday night at Woodbine Racetrack was all he needed
.
In rein to Mike Saftic, six-year-old Rambaran mare The Shebaran was a 1:56.1 winner in Race 5, giving co-owner and trainer Winacott his 1,000th career training victory.
One of the highest percentage trainers in North America over the past few seasons, Winacott has hopes of sending more of his B-track standouts to Woodbine and Mohawk this year.
"I've been thinking of racing a little more in Toronto," Winacott told Trot Insider earlier this week. "If I get some higher quality stock I think I could win some races."
