Eight Straight For Bunny Mach

The winning streak is now eight-in-a-row and counting for pacing mare Bunny Mach thanks to Tuesday’s 1:56 triumph in the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.

Claimed for $10,000 by owner/trainer Sean MacSwain of Vernon Ridge, PE on November 27, 2012, Bunny Mach is now six-for-six since what has turned out to be a very profitable acquisition.

Starting from the second tier in Tuesday’s featured tilt, Bunny Mach got away third for driver Robert Shepherd before making a first-over bid on the way to the half. Sweet Carol Ann hung up first-half fractions of :27.2 and :57.1, but she couldn’t fend off Bunny Mach as the field ventured towards the backstretch.

Bunny Mach brushed to the lead and opened up by 1-1/2 lengths at the three-quarter pole in 1:26. She cruised home in a :30-second clip to win by 4-1/4 lengths over Stayoutofmyaffair in 1:56. Your Beautiful, who was eighth and last at the three-quarter pole, came on strong in the late stages of the contest en route to finishing third.

Sent off as the fourth choice in the wagering, the eight-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Cams Ski Bunny returned $8.40 in the winning effort. The 29-time winner is now three-for-three this season and she’s stashed away more than $240,000 in lifetime earnings.
