True Story Scores 50th Lifetime Win

True Story was bred to pace, and at one point in his career he did. But the majority of his winning has come on the trot, and on Wednesday at Flamboro Downs he celebrated a significant milestone for owners Paul Megens and Lee Hulan.

The 12-year-old son of Kentucky Spur rallied to a 2:03.2 triumph for Jody Jamieson, who had five wins on the card. It was the first win of the season for the veteran, and more notable is the fact that it was the 50th of his career.

True Story made 15 starts on the pace to begin his career, and he managed to put together a 2-1-5 record while banking just over $18,000 along the way. He earned a 1:55 pacing speed badge as a four-year-old at Balmoral Park.

He joined the trotting ranks towards the end of the 2000 season, and since that point he has participated in 231 pari-mutuel events. During that stretch he has managed to earn a 50-22-19 record in addition to earnings in excess of $476,000. He sailed to a career-best clocking of 1:54 on the trot back in 2004 at Woodbine Racetrack.
