It has been reported that a barn collapse which occurred during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, February 25 has claimed the life of a horse.
News of the collapse comes courtesy of a report by goerie.com which states that authorities were alerted to the incident at 3:15 p.m. Fire crews responded, but the horse in question succumbed to injuries it sustained when a part of the barn fell on it.
The article states that heavy snow on the barn’s roof was a factor in the collapse. The barn is located on Arneman Road on the border of Erie County and Crawford County in Pennsylvania.
Responders were able to remove the horse from some of the rubble and it was given some time with its owner before it passed away.
The report states that another horse that was in a part of the barn that didn’t collapse was unharmed.
