Mission Voyage grudgingly released Perlucky well past the quarter, then blew by him in the sloppy stretch to capture Thursday’s (Feb. 17) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 conditioned trot.
After stretching out Perlucky, Mission Voyage and Dan Rawlings confidently pulled the pocket into the final turn. It proved a winning decision, as Mission Voyage rolled home to defeat Perlucky by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:55.1, with Rising MVP third.
Scott Betts trains Mission Voyage, a five-year-old Manofmanymissions-Bon Voyage gelding who lifted his career earnings to $119,234, for Tar Heel Racing.
Jim Pantaleano collected three wins on the 11-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday when the 11-race program features a pair of carryovers: $7,942.35 in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race four), $8,206.36 in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
