North America’s leading driver Billy Davis Jr. booked off his remaining two drives Friday night at Woodbine Racetrack following a mishap before the eighth race
.
“[Majorley] was pretty hot in the post parade and he was grabbing on quite a bit and just going around the second lap, the bit just snapped,” explained Davis Jr. “After that I had no control over the horse. He was just a complete runaway.”
When the Shawn Robinson-trained Majorley headed straight for the paddock, Davis Jr. felt he had no choice but to jump from the sulky.
“Both my knees are a little bruised up right now and my back is getting a little stiff,” said the Guelph, Ont. resident, who walked off the track under his own power.
The 25-year-old feels the best thing for him to do is to rest up as he will be back in the bike for Saturday’s afternoon Flamboro Downs card and Woodbine’s evening program.
Majorley escaped injury.
