The principals behind the planned Lakeshore Raceway project are calling for industry participants to help show support for the plan to build a new harness racing facility in Essex County.
On Wednesday, February 20, 2013 individuals representing the track will be presenting the plan for building the new non-profit racetrack to the Essex County Council.
The meeting gets underway at the Essex Civic Centre, 360 Fairview Ave. W., Essex, Ontario at 6:30 p.m.
"The more people from the community and the horse racing industry that we can get to the meeting, the better," notes breeder Ruleen Lilley. "Let's show the world how much we want to make this new track a reality."

This is the most moronic idea
This is the most moronic idea I have heard, at a time when wagering is at its all time low and tracks are dying a slow death when an industry has to be fully funded on its own at the end of three years.
The econmomics of this do not mnake sense. If you think one second of the stranded purse money will be used for capital, then your sadly mistaken.
Stop wasting your time and put the effort into the saving the tracks that are already trying to survive.
Another example of a divided industry.

What a great idea in the midst of the catastrophic mess the Liberal government and OLG have created.
