The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has concluded its thorough investigation into allegations at two of the province’s racetracks. The AGCO has announced that it has found no evidence to substantiate or support the allegations.
Officials with the AGCO provided Trot Insider with the update regarding the situation early Thursday afternoon (February 1).
In late fall of 2017, AGCO Racing Investigations received information from a member of the public with concerns about the integrity of racing at Leamington and Dresden racetracks. As regulator, the AGCO has a mandate to protect the public interest and maintain the fairness and integrity of horse racing in Ontario.
Following that request from the public, the AGCO conducted an investigation. This week that thorough investigation was completed, and the AGCO has found no evidence to substantiate or support the allegations.
While this concludes the investigation, the AGCO encourages anyone with information or concerns about racing to call 519-668-7558 or toll free 1-800-522-2876.
