N.A.-Leading Davis Racks Up Five

A five-win performance at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday afternoon allowed reinsman Billy Davis, Jr. to distance himself from everyone else atop the North American leader board for trips to the winner’s circle.

Davis, who started the day with a five-win lead over the U.S. representative at last year’s World Driving Championship, Corey Callahan, pushed his win total to 65 thanks to another banner day at Canada’s fastest half-mile oval.

A sweep of the Daily Double got him off on the right foot, and the wins just kept on coming throughout the remainder of the card. Shes All Good (1:59.1) was a front-stepping winner in the opener, and Davis came right back to take Race 2 with Belvidere Hanover (2:04.2) despite being parked every step of the mile.

A triumph in Race 6 with Milliondollarkevin (1:59.3) gave him the hat trick and Stewardesses’ (2:03.3) score in Race 10 gave him the Grand Slam. The fifth - and final - tally on the program came with Maes Rustler (1:58) in Race 12.

On the heels of a career-best campaign, Davis has already banked close to $500,000 as he heads into the second month of the 2012 season. He finished off 2011 with 404 tallies and purse earnings in excess of $2.7 million. He’s quickly closing in on $5 million in lifetime winnings.

The right weight and the right desire seems to say he will be winning races in bunches again in 2012.A WEG regular now ; confidence at a real high every time he hoists himself into that bike. Drive on!!! From a small track in British Columbia to a WEG regular--a birthday party almost every day.He bears watching in every race he drives in , especially at WEG.
