Harness racing's next generation is making their presence felt on the scene. Just over a week ago, 18-year-old driver Doug McNair enjoyed his first million dollar season, while 19-year-old Scott Zeron celebrated the milestone on Saturday night (December 6) at Georgian Downs.

Zeron, the son of veteran horseman Rick Zeron, engineered a winning trip aboard The End in the card's opener for trainer Chantal Mitchell. The four-year-old Cambest mare front-stepped her way to victory lane in a clocking of 1:55.3.

The win pushed Zeron's seasonal earnings past the million dollar mark, but the amateur reinsman didn't stop there.

In the $13,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Trot, Zeron prevailed with Norway No Day in wire-to-wire fashion. The six-year-old Self Possessed mare trained by Gilbert Hamel stopped the clock in 1:58.4.

The resident of Oakville, ON has recorded 122 wins so far this year. In just two seasons of racing, Zeron has recorded 157 wins and $1,289,052 in purse earnings.

The Canadian Standardbred continue to stop their interest in drivers at London as they have once again ignored the accomplishments of Marc St. Louis Jr. who has purse earnings of $1,057.100 not in his lifetime but this year. Come on let's look at the whole picture. Marc is only 20 years old

He has accomplished more than either of the above young drivers who have certainly acommpished great things on their own.
