He's the leading dash winner in Canadian harness racing. He's the first Canadian driver to hit 1,000 wins before the age of 22. Now Scott Zeron will show the world his talent in an international driving event this Saturday in Paris
, France.
When asked if he had any concerns over taking a few days away, Zeron confidently replied "I can promise you that nobody's going to beat me for the dash title this year."
The event in France is celebrating the French trotter and involves drivers from all over the world including the world's winningest driver, Germany's Heinz Wewering and French driving ace Jean Michel Bazire. Cheval Francais wanted Canada's winningest driver for 2010, and Zeron was more than happy to accept the offer.
"It's a great opportunity to get some exposure and do something I normally wouldn't be able to do," noted Zeron. "I have no clue what to expect and I hope they put on a good show."
It should be noted that this isn't about the money. There is no purse money for the race, in which Zeron will line up behind one of 14 trotters with a rather simple strategy.
"My goal is stay flat," laughed Zeron.
