After starting out in the amateur driving ranks, Jonathan Ahle is creating a buzz in a breakout season with nearly 300 wins in the sulky this year.
Ahle was given the opportunity to drive in amateur races a few years ago after taking a job cleaning stalls and feed tubs with the Shaun Vallee stable as a teenager then working his way up to jogging horses.
"It was working out real well for me in the amateurs and I had a lot of success so I figured why not take a shot and make some money while I'm doing it and see what happens," said 26-year-old reinsman Ahle, who now works for Noel Daley as he pursues a professional driving career.
Ahle discussed his introduction to harness racing and some of his driving highlights as a guest on The Meadowlands' In The Sulky segment last weekend with Dave Little.
