After leading his Denver Nuggets to a win on Saturday against the New York Knicks, Nikola Jokić might want to consider a new pre-game ritual that involves harness racing.
After his visit to the Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday night, the reigning NBA MVP with a passion for trotters posted 32 points, 11 rebounds and five assists during the Nuggets' 113-99 win over the Knicks on Saturday.
When asked by in a post-game interview if his performance was boosted by watching harness racing the night prior, ESPN's Tim Bontemps reported that Jokić noted his harness cheering section at the game and pondered if a special request could be accommodated for a new pre-game ritual.
"Actually, maybe. There was nine drivers from last night, they were at the game today. I was with them last night. Great guys, and the Meadowlands is a great, great, great track," said Jokić. "Maybe I need to go to the horses every time I travel. Maybe the front office or someone needs to check that out."
