Regally-bred stakes winner Aunt Irene 2,1:55.1 ($124,484) has been sold, fetching a six-figure price tag on Saturday (Dec. 4).

As a racehorse, Aunt Irene sports a 1-4-1 summary from 19 lifetime starts. Consigned by the partnership of Christina Takter and Solveig’s Breeders of East Windsor, N.J., Aunt Irene is a three-year-old Trixton filly out of Hall Of Fame honoured broodmare Solveig 2,1:56; 4,1:54.4f ($820,791). After her standout racing career, Solveig has had 10 foals of racing age, five with records under 1:55 and combined earnings of nearly $5 million. In 2011, her mating to Donato Hanover produced the two-time Breeders Crown champion Shake It Cerry 2,1:53.3; 3,1:51.2; BT1:49.4 ($2,786,104).

That residual value encouraged New York's Steve Finkelstein and his Jesmeral Stable of New York to fork over $415,000 to purchase Aunt Irene through onGait.com on Saturday. Plans call for the filly to be bred to Walner for the 2022 breeding season.
