The second leg of the Innisfil Cup Claiming Series went postward during Monday’s 11-race card at Georgian Downs, and the favourites failed to live up to the hype in the set of $12,000 divisions.

ER Mr T tagged along to finish third in the first leg of the series, but he was a front-stepping winner in Monday’s follow-up assignment for trainer/driver Rick Baker. Sent off at odds of 3-1, the four-year-old son of Cincinnati Kid brushed to the top on the way to the half and once he cleared it was game over. The gelding drew clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Skyrise Against in 1:59.1. The Jolly Millar rounded out the top three finishers.

Peter Dickey of Cookstown and Leo Baker of Keswick, ON share ownership on the square-gaiter who improved this year’s record to 8-1-2 from 29 trips postward. The 11-time winner upped his lifetime earnings to $63,641 with the victory.

Northern Senorita took the second division, but used drastically different tactics to pull off the 7-1 upset. Scott Coulter laid off the early speed set by Lei Trevino (:28.2 and :58.4) and Cool Creek Magic (1:28.1) before powering away to a four-length triumph in 1:59.2. Cool Creek Magic was the runner-up, with third prize earned by Tangier.

Trainer Wayne Preszcator of Exeter co-owns the three-year-old daughter of Angus Hall with Harness Racing Canada Inc of Cambridge and John Kodric of Toronto, ON. The partners have enjoyed watching the filly put together a 3-0-1 record from four starts since acquiring the youngster. The four-time winner pushed her lifetime earnings to $74,645 with the win.

The $35,000 (added) final is scheduled for Monday, December 10.
