The Tuesday afternoon opener at The Meadows turned out to be a very memorable race for driver Brett Miller, who registered the 6,000th victory of his career behind the Clay Faurot, Jr.-trained They Call Me Moon.

Miller and They Call Me Moon were second across the finish line, but they were later placed first after the eventual winner, TSM Artist Star B, was first-placed-eighth for causing interference to a number of horses shortly past the half of the $8,200 conditioned event.

A win with the Paul Kennedy-trained Dontgetinskyway in Race 13 gave Miller his second trip to the winner’s circle on the 15-race card, and it helped bolster his lifetime earnings which stand in excess of $44 million.

The native of Columbus, Ohio has racked up more than $2 million in earnings for thirteen consecutive seasons, with his $6.5 million haul in 2010 being his richest year to date. Miller had his winningest season in 2004 when he made 639 trips to victory lane.

Miller added a an unforgettable night to his resume on April 11, 2007 when he savoured 10 winning drives on a single card at Northfield Park in his native state of Ohio.
